Now that Steven Tyler has left and Jlo is on the bubble. Who would you chose to be the next American Idol Judges. I favor past Idols. Too bad Kelly is with Duets. I say Adam Lambert, JHud, Clay, or even Carrie Underwood.So many past Idols that have been there and gone through it all would be my choices. Top Music guys? David Foster and Andrea Bocelli.

It was his involvement with AI that kept him from doing The X Factor over here.

I'd like to see two that are differing in styles, and will give great constructive criticisms. Maybe someone who's a talented singer and knows the art of singing and the other person is someone who's a songwriter/producer who will look for connection to the song and emotions of the songs. I'm not a fan of bringing back Idol contestants for this.

You can count on ocelot to be so insightful. 
Mariah Carey has been rumored. I bet she knows a bit about singing. Plus she's a character. How about Pia's buddy, Harvey Mason Jr. as the songwriter/producer?
I read that the average Idol viewer is in their early 40s. So should TPTB choose people like Mariah and Simon Le Bon (Duran Duran) to make those viewers happy, or try to get younger viewers by choosing younger stars?
Or should they forego stars and pick only unknown industry insiders and make it about the contestants?
I bet they will go wtih older stars again to cater to their older audience. Older stars are more eager to be on the show because it's definitely a boost for a fading career. I don't think they will go with industry insiders because they need big names to generate buzz so the show can compete with a revamped X-Factor. Of course X Factor seems to be concentrating on a younger demographic, which is why they went with Britney and Demi.
I'm down with Singer (vocals), Producer (production and dance), and Celebrity (entertainment factor). Don't care how old they are as long as they have industry credibility with a resume demonstrating Artistic integrity in the MUSIC industry. 
No phenomes need apply!
Carrie will not take that. She will not judge people like that. Mariah Carey, and Jim Carey! Haha!
