Pia Toscano returns to Citi Field on Sunday night. The Queens native and "American Idol" alum will sing "God Bless America" during the seventh-inning stretch of the nationally televised Mets-Cubs game as part of the home team's 9/11 observance. Three years ago, Toscano won the team's annual Anthem Search and performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" before a game in July 2009.
Pia Toscano to sing at 9/11
Wow-nice find Viv. I can only imagne how much of an honor this is for Pia. Not only returning to the Mets stadium to sing, but also being a New Yorker. I'm sure it will bring back memories, as she has said how 9/11 is close to her heart....every one, especially in those who were in New York knows where they were that morning.
wow excited for pia, and myself, because im eager to see her perform already hopefully they televise her ima be watching the game even though i hate the mets
I hope the game isn't rained out- going to have to see if the game is going to be televised, this will the one and only time I watch a Mets game, lol.
Wow talk about her career coming full circle!!! I know she must really be excited!! I hope there's a video of this special occasion cause this is one performance that has MANY special meanings for so many and it needs to be forever captured for years to come for all to enjoy again and again!!!
What an honor Pia to sing God Bless America in NY on 9/11. She should sing the National Anthem too. The game is on ESPN Sunday night at 8.
Ahhhh will have to watch the game or basically switch back and forth between the Baseball game and Football games LOL This is a great honor and happy that she is a part of this!!!!
