Pia was introduced to the American Idol audience last January. It's been a year and a half since we finally saw the potential of Pia once she hit that first note and out came a voice that no one expected. The Idol run began. Each week Pia delivered an outstanding peformance that was as perfect as you could ask for in front of millions of people. Then. The untimely elimination. To this day. I feel the voters were so sure that Pia would make it to the top. They didn't bother to vote and went to bed. Then it made worldwide news that Pia was off the show. Everything this year related to eliminations and the voting falls back with Pia's name in it for comparisions.
I have watched or DVR'ed Idol since day 1 and never missed a show. I've seen many shockers over the years. Pia ranks right up there with them. Then you come to the post Idol performances. I can't remember any Idol who made more appearences after being eliminated. SYTYCD, Disney Channel, NASCAR. the list goes on and on.
As we approach the 1 year anniversary of her first single "This Time" in a couple weeks. Pia numbers on the social networks to this day are still climbing since then. Looking at three quarters of million people in the post below that follow Pia. That is beyond impressive. There's a gold record right there and even more that do not use any social networks will purchase her music. And you wonder why I have a poll going right now. Facebook does spread the word more than Twitter when it comes to social networks. I'm working on that right now for stats. This will help me design the site to be even more effective. Rather shocking the difference between the two.
Imagine if Idol showed last years Idols Twitter names. Pia would have the same amount of followers this years Idols have in the hundreds of thousand. Funny thing is. I knew that NASCAR was going to go with Twitter in a big way. Being at the Daytona 500 I couldn't see a TV. The next race Bryan McKinight sang the NA. And there was his Twitter handle. I contacted Pia and asked to her to tell management that they are showing Twitter names on NASCAR. She did. So when she sang for NASCAR. Her Twitter name was right there on the banner.. Cool! In the meantime Idol was already underway. The show after the NASCAR race Pia sang at. I watched Idol a couple days later. All of a sudden I saw one of the Idols singing, and there pops up their Twitter name. What! So I say Pia could have had 400-600 thousand followers right now. I'll Stand by You could have pulled 100k minimun without a doubt.
With new followers still hoping on board with Pia on Facebook, Twitter, and Fanity. You cant deny that there's excitement and anticipation building to the release of her album. They know something special will be coming out soon.
We should all be thankful where Pia sits at now. Still popular as ever. Still gaining new fans without any music in almost a year. What else can we ask for? Pia is sitting in a great spot right now. That day will come. The Album. Then we can all have a celebration once that CD is in our hands. It's just a matter of time. Booyah!
